I've just returned to Madrid after nine days in Central/Eastern Europe. Two friends and I made our way through Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest. We did it as cheaply as possible (out of necessity) and had an amazing time.
We will likely be traveling through Budapest on our way to Ulaanbaatar. Budapest is as far east as I've ever been. What's hard to believe, though, is that we should pass through Budapest within the first week (I'm estimating the 5th day) of our 3-5 week trip.
On a less positive note, our fundraising campaign is dead in the water. We have not received a single cent, which is more than a bit disconcerting considering that other teams are raking in cash. What happened to that famous American charitable spirit?
