About the Adventure
We are entering two teams into the 2008 Mongol Rally, Genghis Khan’t 1 & 2, with two drivers per car; hopefully one car will make it!
Genghis Khan’t 1; Kunaal Arora and Alex Stevenson.
Genghis Khan’t 2; Matthew Wilson and Tommy Read.
We are supporting two charities, the first, Mercy Corps Mongolia (A sub branch of Mercy Corps International) support rural communities and herding families through economic, educational and agricultural programmes. The second, Hope and Homes for Children aim to reunite children with their families in Eastern European countries and provide foster families for orphans.
The rules of the rally stipulate that we must take part in a car worth under £1000 and with a 1000cc engine or less. Providing we make it our cars will be donated to charity. Our vehicles of choice are two 1987 Fiat Panda 4x4’s, which we will be driving across Northern and Eastern Europe to the Middle East, up through Central Asia to the Steppes of Russia, hopefully reaching the Mongolian Capital Ulaanbaatar five weeks later. We will be driving over 10,000 miles around the world tackling mountain ranges, deserts, horrific or non-existent roads in our rusty sheds with only our wits, gaffer tape and enthusiasm to get us there.
In order to make this possible we need to raise a minimum of £1000 per team, however we would like to greatly exceed this target. Your donations, however big or small will be greatly appreciated.

The world is just a little bit too safe. Gone are the days when the edge of the map called you forth to discover what lay beyond - satellite maps and GPS have it laid out before you leave the armchair. What if you want th...

Good Luck. Saw a Planet Earth episode once which featured camels in the desert of outer mongolia - might be more reliable that the cars and if the sex drought (of which Mr Yaxley speaks) really kicks in, you could make love to one.
