About the Adventure
On 19th July 2008, Dave, John, Katy & Paul will be heading off from Hyde Park on the start of our journey around 1/3 of the world, ending (hopefully) in Mongolia and all to raise money for two great charities, Mercy Corps Mongolia and CNCF (Christina Noble Childrens Foundation).
We know how much you hate parting with your hard earned cash, so to give you some incentive, we have made things slightly harder for ourselves to ensure we are really deserving of your support!
We'll be travelling in two fairly unsuitable cars - suzukis 'Carlos' and 'The Mule' (the latter not so far being MOT-able, tax-able or insurable and having a hole where Paul stuck his thumb through some rust), plus we'll be throwing caution to the wind and laughing in the face of any support from GPS or SatNav. With only two main routes/ dirt tracks through Mongolia - how hard can it be to get lost??!
I guess we'll just have to keep... Heading East!
So - the real challenge is over to you...4 of us...taking potentially 5-6 weeks off work... driving minimum 8 hours a day...going through at least 15 countries... travelling approx 10,000 miles... eating whatever unidentifyable "food" stuffs come our way... sleeping anywhere we can find space be it hostel, tent, or the car...becoming experts at roadside repairs... and hopefully not getting too fed up with each other....
Now - can you raise enough money to equal our efforts??
Over to you... tell your friends, colleagues and even random strangers in the street... Team Heading East will be Heading East!
Any and all donations very gratefully received.

The Mongol Rally 2008 starts on July 19th 2008 from London, Madrid and Milan and ends up in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
What's the point?
The world is just a little bit too safe. Gone are the days when the edge of the map called you forth to discover what lay beyond - satellite maps and GPS have it laid out before you leave the armchair. What if you want th...
