About the Adventure
Top Notch!!! The Haggis Hunters have bagged a spot on the Mongol Rally 2008!!!
This July we will rallying across deserts, mountain ranges, bad roads, no roads and getting stuck in the middle nowhere with nothing but a crap car, a spanner and some increasingly brown pants awaits us.. Can't beat it!
On Saturday 19th July, we'll be setting off from Hyde Park in London on a
10,000 mile road trip, a third of the way around the globe to Ulan batar in
Mongolia. All things going to plan (what are the chances?!?!), this should
take us through a fair chunk of Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Far East. It's all for a good cause, we'll be raising awareness (and hopefully sacks of cash) for Mercy Corps and the work they are doing in Mongolia to support rural communities and herding families through economic, educational and agricultural programmes. Plus of course, it gives us a fantastic opportunity to get out there and explore the far corners of the planet, experiencing one of the toughest rallies in the world from the steaming front seat of a tiny, clapped out, 1L Volkswagon Polo!!
There's still loads to do before we're ready to set off, so watch this space for updates as we find a car, plot a course through Kazakhstan via Borats village and plan a few events to raise some cash.
Thanks for sponsoring the Haggis Hunters!
Cheers
Richie, Michael and Mark
