About the Adventure
After conquering Cornwall by bike; plundering Paris by train, and meeting the Gods atop Mt.Olympus we are ready for our next epic adventure; and what better than the Mongol Rally!
The rally involves a one-month journey across Europe and Asia in a car of engine size 1.0 litres or less to raise money for a range of charities. We have been donated a 20 year old (older than us!) Volkswagen Polo which we are working on (neither brakes nor lights worked) to make suitable for the 8000 mile journey, and we are fundraising for Hopes and Homes and Mercy Corps Mongolia.
Mercy Corps Mongolia is the Mongolian branch of the much larger international charity Mercy Corps and Hopes And Homes is involved in helping Eastern-European orphans by removing them from Soviet-era state institutions, in which the living conditions are terrible, and reuniting them with biological relatives or finding them homes in small family environments.
