About the Adventure
So, after a long build up and with little preparation, the 2008 Mongol Rally is almost upon us. Colin and Pete will set off on July 19th from Hyde Park along with 200 other teams - our intended destination is Ulan Bator in Mongolia.
The journey will take us 10,000 miles across the globe and none of the routes to Mongolia are particularly comfortable or safe! All of this will be done in a car with an engine smaller than that of your average lawnmower and there's absolutely no support along the way - so we'll be relying mainly on bribery and good fortune! All in the name of charity (and the spirit of adventure)!
The charities we're supporting are 'Mercy Corps Mongolia' who aim to give a better quality of life to the residents of rural Mongolia, and 'Hope and Homes for Children' who are dedicated to finding homes for orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable children in the poorest regions of the world. We are aiming to raise £500 for each of these charities so any contribution you make will be gratefully received.
