Charity Number: 1121273
Sustainable, affordable, clean water projects using the latest technology.
Current Situation
1 billion peolple worldwide lack access to clean drinking water, 2.2 million people die every year from dirty water related disease affecting mainly under 5’s. over 20 World Health Organisation recognised water related diseases. Women and children walk miles and spend hours collecting dirty water. Old pumps, boreholes and wells are often contaminated.
Proposed Solution
Working in partnership with Water Health International (technologists) and World Vision Ghana (local NGO) funding and implementing community clean water projects.
Plan for Money Received
£6749 for the capital costs of building the clean water facility. Villagers also contribute to build costs for commitment and ownership. Other costs eg education, sanitation, maintenance, operator salaries etc carried by the local NGO and income from sale of water which is set as affordable by the local NGO - which creates a sustainable project.
Volunteering Opportunities
We are volunteer led and our social enterprise arm (FRANK Water) visit 12 festivals in the summer season – come and help out! We sell bottled water to raise funds for projects. Also we don’t spend any money on advertising – All of our stockists have come through word of mouth - so please spread the word! Drink FRANK and be part of the solution. There may also be opportunities for volunteering at the projects in due course.
