About the Adventure Psychedelic Pirates
www.psychedelicpirates.com

The Psychedelic Pirates have confirmed a place in the Mongol Rally 2008. We need your help!

We will be using our wit, cunning, guile and tenacity to travel from Hyde Park, across western and eastern Europe and the steppes of central Asia, through countries most people have never heard of, and across 7 mountain ranges to reach Ulaanbaatar, capital of one of the most untouched and remote countries on the planet: Mongolia.

We must do all this in a vehicle with an engine no bigger than 1 litre. There will be no support and no defined route and each vehicle must raise at least £1,000 for the nominated charities. We will be traversing countries with very little in the way of roads, let alone road maps, in vehicles that struggle with the school run.

At the end of the journey the cars will be auctioned in Ulaanbataar with all the proceeds raised going to charity. We then have to find our way home again. Or we could jack in our jobs, build a Ger, and sell Camel's Milk Moisturiser to Body Shop for the rest of our years.

Media Coverage
We are currently publicising the event to a variety of media outlets including television, newspapers, magazines, radio and numerous internet groups. The Team Website www.psychedelicpirates.com is now getting 1000’s of hits a day and is a firm favourite with adventurers in several countries. The Website is updated constantly with press and news releases to encourage media coverage. Our Facebook group alone has over 100 members.

The team website will be kept up-to-date while we make preparations and once on the road we will be sending back photographs and texts to be published. Furthermore, video filmed using the in-car camera system will also be available for people to watch. Live positioning will also be available and updated to allow the public to follow the rally.
Sponsorship
We are offering businesses and individuals the opportunity to be involved in this exciting adventure. The rally provides unique exposure to companies and organisations that choose to get involved via local and national media, and via our website.

We are not only seeking monetary sponsorship but also services and products that will help in the 10,000 mile journey.

There are various sponsorship options available:

• Banner advertisement on team website
• Branding to be placed vehicle
• Sponsor’s logo to feature on clothing to be worn by the team
• Credit on team video recordings
• Channel 4 are following the rally; the team and vehicles will feature on national television
The Vehicle
We are already in possession of a 1996 Daihatsu Hi-Jet People Carrier.

This is a normal road car and will undergo a transformation to ensure its readiness for the rally. Practical modifications will be made to ensure our vehicle stands the best possible chance of getting to the end. Creative design of the vehicle’s exterior will ensure it stands out in a crowd!

I always had a sneaking suspicion that you were all completely barking. Now that I know for sure so many things have become clear, but it leaves me in no doubt that if anyone's going to succeed in this endeavour it's gonna be you guys. Good luck
